Autodesk

Connect Autodesk under Settings → Connections, map an account on a company when you need one, and put project roles on each job. Onboard creates the user and assigns those roles.

Connect

Open Settings → Connections → Autodesk. Only an IT admin of the desk can connect Autodesk or edit the roles on a job. HR cannot.

Paste the Autodesk Platform Services client id, client secret, and the account or hub id. A hub id that starts with b. is stored without that prefix. Also paste the account admin user id Autodesk requires as User-Id when a server app assigns project roles. The client secret stays on the server and is not shown again. Do not paste it into chat.

On Companies, paste an Autodesk account or hub id when one app serves more than one company. Leave it blank to use the account from Connections.

Roles on a job

On the job, the Roles section is the Autodesk project roles for that onboard. Paste each role id, plus the project id and the product (Docs, Build, and the rest) with member or administrator access. Account Admin assigns those roles when it adds the person to the project. History calls that the group assignment.

When an onboard is filed and Autodesk is connected, Lifecycle creates the person with the onboard email and name, then assigns the job’s roles. The Lifecycle ticket still files if Autodesk is not connected or the job has no roles. History says it was skipped and why. A failed Autodesk call is a failure in History. Offboard does not remove the Autodesk user.
